There’s been a surge in telephone scammers demanding access to your computer of late, with more than 8,000 Aussies losing a total of $4.4 million to Telstra, NBN, Microsoft and even NSW Police impersonators.

Remember to always be suspicious when you get phone calls out of the blue from people like Telstra or NBN demanding access to your computer. In fact I can’t think of any situation at any time when someone you don’t personally know rings up telling you there’s something wrong with your computer.
